Davos Platz and Davos Dorf

Wayne and I drove to the airport in Salzburg to drop off the car.  Then it was off to the train station.  It was a beautiful ride from Salzburg to Davos.  I took pictures, but pictures through a window of a moving train do not come out very well.

Davos Platz and Davos Dorf are pretty little cities.  There are so many ski slopes.  I'm sure they are very crowded in the winter.

The Davos Sheraton
The hotel gave us free tickets for all the transportation we wanted to use in the city.  We took a funicular to the top. (Schaltzalp)  There is a very nice hotel right next to the ski lifts.  The alpine slide was here too.  It looked quite different from the one we went on earlier in the summer.
If you hike up a little higher there was a restaurant. (The Snow Beach Restaurant) Great view, however they were only serving drinks.
We ended up having dinner at the hotel at the top of the funicular. (Panorama Restaurant)
The next morning we got up early to do some more exploring and get some breakfast.

Before we found breakfast, we came across a second funicular. (Parsenn) It was just about to leave so we hopped on.  We knew we had a limited amount of time before the train left for Zermatt.  We took a chance and took the second part of the funicular up.  It went up above the tree line.  We later found out it only went up and down every half hour.  We were cutting it close.  Beautiful views of Davos and the mountains.

We made it back down in time, but we had to grab a pastry to eat on our walk back to the Sheraton to get our suitcases to get to the train station.  The Sheraton is the hotel in the back.
