November 26
Saturday was a fun day. Wayne has a client, a retired doctor that moved out in this area. When he heard that Wayne was coming to visit family, he invited all of us out to his place for lunch. It was a beautiful drive and very remote. The houses have to have at least three acres. Everyone has to get their own water, electricity, and sewer systems. The house was situation on a slight hill. It was all very lovely. Dr. Irwin and his wife were wonderful. They provided us with a delicious ham lunch. After spending a few hours visiting, we went to investigate some Civil War battle sites.
The next two pictures are out of order. (Again.)
This is an actual cannon from the Civil War time period. I believe several of the cannons traded sides or went back and forth because they got captured by the opposite army.

Two battles took place here. Both were called Bull Run. It all looks so peaceful now.
Later in the evening on Saturday, we went back to Washington DC. We had arranged for a night tour of all the monuments. Here is the WWII Memorial. This memorial is new since I was last in Washington. It is right across from the Washington Monument.
The Washington Monument can be seen from almost anywhere. I know these are the best of pictures. I need a tripod and a better camera to make them better. But I did my best. I wanted to remember what they looked like at night.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. monument is relatively new. It has been open for just a few months.
Lincoln Memorial
The Korean Memorial.
Iwo Jima. I was very impressed with this monument. It looked different on all sides.
Sunday November 31st was our last day. We were able to go to church and hear Sara play the organ. We stayed just for Sacrament meeting. Their ward is quite large with many young couples. Sara and Mike seem very happy to be there. As always, it is sad to leave our children and go home. It too quiet at our house.
