December in California

This is why we live in Southern California. Notice the trees still have leaves and Wayne is in his shirt sleeves. The weather today was delightful. We got to see Sara play a Los Altos Varsity vs. Alumni. She still has it. Actually I think she still plays as well as she did in high school. It was fun to watch her play again.

Notice we still have roses blooming. The gardeners just trimmed the dead ones off.
I was surprised to see the azalaes blooming. Usually it they bloom in the spring.
I think I will make a bouquet of flowers for our Christmas table with fresh flowers from our yard. I even picked some peppers from our garden.
When all of you are cold and tired of the snow, just remember where you could go to get away from it all. It has been great to have a few days of rain and it gets chilly at night. But when the sun comes out, we can see our beautiful mountains and not be trapped in your inversion (aka smog.) We miss being with the bigger part of the family for the holidays but Wayne would rather be golfing than shoveling snow. (And so would I).

Oh the weather there is so nice. I am so jealous. It is freezing here! Oh well! I hope you had a very merry christmas and have a happy new year! It has been fun to have Kari, Matt and the kids in town for Christmas. Tanner has kept us entertained!
