November 23
Sara had planned a lot of fun things for this day. Once we were off the metro we started walking to the capital building. There were a few trees that still had leaves. It made me realized that it was still fall.
The rain had stopped. It was a little brisk, but Washington DC was pretty. I had fun taking pictures of the different views of the capital building.
This picture is taken from the capital building's stairs.
We had tour tickets of the building. We had to wait for awhile so we visited a few other building first. Besides it was windy and cold.
I could have spent more time in the Supreme Court Building.
These are a few statues of the different Supreme Court Judges.
We weren't allowed to go on this staircase, but I thought it was a great view.
This is the first thing you see to greet you when you get into the capital.
The rotunda
In one of the rooms there are statues of someone important for each state. Brigham Young represented Utah.
After our tour we had lunch at the Indian Museum. It has some interesting food to buy. We still had time to kill before the hockey game so we went inside the Air and Space Museum. My school class had just read a story about Amelia so I took a picture and then showed it to my students.
I know we had done a lot of walking and visiting, but this is a classic. I think they were exhausted.
All the museums were closing so we had to go outside. The Washington monument was lite up. The iphone takes a better picture at night than my regular camera.
